Kwanzaa

Dr. Maulana Ron Karenga created Kwanzaa in 1966. Observed for 1 weak between December 26 and January.

Unity-to strive for and maintain unity in the family community nation and race,Self-Determination-to define ourselves create for our selves and speak for our selves, Responsibility-To build and maintain our community together and to make our brother and sisters problem our problems and to solve them together, Cooperative Economics-to build and maintain our stores shops and other  businesses and to profit them, Purpose-to make as our collective vocation the building and the development of our community in order to restore our people to their traditional greatness, Creativity-to do always as much as we can in the way that we can in order to leave our community more beautiful then when we inherited it, and Faith-to believe with all our hearts in our parents our teachers our leaders and people and the righteousness and the victory of our struggle  the 7 principles of Kwanzaa. 

Kwanzaa can also be called First Fruit. Also it is to promote the African American culture. A black candle is lit on the first day of kwanzaa and it symbolizes people/
